Some ways to reduce head heat:
1. Oil: Always oil the blade before each use, after applying coolant, and after cleaning before storage. Oiling the cutter head reduces the amount of friction and helps flush trimmed hair from the blade surface.
2. Minimum two blades: Don’t rely on just one blade to do all the work, it’s better to have at least two blades that can be replaced, when one blade gets hot, just replace it with a cooler blade.
3. Ceramic material: Consider using ceramic blades instead of steel blades (but note that ceramic blades stay sharper longer, but once dull they cannot be sharpened like all-steel blades). Ceramic is a material that stays cooler for longer, but be aware that even when ceramic blades are combined with steel blades, the tip will still heat up with use.
4. Touch check: Touch the blade every 5 to 15 minutes, it may be warm, but it should not be too hot to hold with your finger. Coolant can be used at this point, remembering to reapply the oil after applying the coolant.
Under normal circumstances, these methods can solve the problem of overheating of the cutter head for you, but if the cutter head has abnormal heating and other problems, it is not recommended to solve it by yourself, and you can ask a professional for help.
